About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Design Coordinator to join our team at Dillon Consulting. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about transportation engineering and wants to take their career to the next level.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the preparation of technical reports and studies, designing transportation projects, conducting site investigations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. You will also contribute to business development, learning and development, and support the growth of the Transportation group.

As a Transportation Design Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from preliminary design to contract administration. You will be responsible for preparing design drawings and reports, contract documents, tendering and contract administration, and working with AutoCAD software. Your strong verbal and written communication skills, organization, and interpersonal skills will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and studies to support the development of transportation engineering designs, including EA documentation.
  • Design transportation projects, including preliminary and detailed design, engineering studies, technical specifications, design calculations, and transportation drafting using CADD software.
  • Conduct site investigations and condition assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, environmental scientists, engineering technologists, and administrative support staff.
  • Contribute to business development, including estimating and project proposal preparation.
  • Support the growth of the Transportation group and participate in professional associations and committees.
Requirements
  • A degree in civil or transportation engineering or a diploma in civil engineering technology.
  • Licensed to practice as an engineer-in-training in the province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months, or registered as a civil engineering technologist in the province of Ontario or eligible to be registered within six months.
  • 3-8 years of experience with exposure to consulting.
  • Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices.
