Sushi Chef and Kitchen Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Sushi Chef and Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Arigato Sushi Japanese Restaurant. In this role, you will be responsible for planning menus, estimating food requirements, and overseeing the kitchen staff.
About the JobThis is a permanent position with a guaranteed salary of $45,000 per year, paid bi-weekly, which translates to approximately $21.85 per hour based on a 30-40 hour workweek. The successful candidate must have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, as they will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and helpers. They should also be able to maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment. Additionally, they will need to ensure that the kitchen and work areas are clean and well-maintained.
Responsibilities- Menu Planning: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization.
- Chef Duties: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
- Kitchen Supervision: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, order supplies and equipment, supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Cleanliness: Clean kitchen and work areas.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Schedule: 30-40 hours per week.
- Language: English.
