We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our technology team in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting for our technology team in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Job Description

As a Financial Analyst, you will perform various daily and month-end procedures related to the billing and invoicing processes for our internal technology team and third-party contractors. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing month-end close processes and liaising with subject matter experts to prepare accurate journal entries
  • Providing general ledger coding guidance to business stakeholders and monthly billing support
  • Routine analysis based on existing tools and templates to support journal entries, assist in variance analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts in accordance with US GAAP and Enterprise Finance Policy
  • Creating reporting while considering decision-maker needs and reporting objectives before building reports
  • Developing and implementing process enhancements, automation, and best practices to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Designing basic reconciliation templates and identifying efficient ways to extract data
  • Assisting business partners in finding solutions by making informed judgments and decisions through thorough analysis of information, applying general knowledge of US GAAP and reporting guidelines
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in a mid-to-large-size organization
  • 2+ years of understanding controls, performing routine reconciliations, and P&L variance analysis
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Post-secondary degree (in accounting preferred)
  • Second Year CPA Program

Salary and Location

The estimated annual salary for this position is $57,500-$62,000. This role is located in Vancouver, BC, and as a remote-first work environment, you will have the flexibility to work from home or collaborate with colleagues in-person when needed.
