Job Title: Curriculum & Assessment Facilitator

About the Role:

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled Curriculum & Assessment Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of the Faculty of Science, you will play a critical role in overseeing the development and revision of undergraduate and graduate programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Management and Instructional Support:
    • Provide senior-level support to the Dean of Science and Departments/Schools
    • Ensure curriculum information is disseminated effectively and timely amongst various stakeholders
    • Support the development and revision of academic degree programs
    • Support the creation, update, and approval of course proposals
    • Support Departments/Schools and Associate Deans in developing and communicating curriculum mapping
    • Support Departments/Schools in curriculum accreditation activities
    • Update and monitor course descriptions and other information published in the Undergraduate Calendar and Course Catalog
  • Assessment and Quality Assurance Management:
    • Provide senior-level support to the Dean of Science office in assessment and Quality Assurance issues
    • Support the preparation for and follow-up to meetings
    • Organize and schedule meetings
    • Prepare agendas, minutes, and supporting material
    • Support Chairs, Directors, or Associate Deans in overseeing all aspects of annual quality assurance and assessment processes
    • Provide strategic support regarding the implementation of assessment plans and continuous quality improvement cycles
  • Project Management:
    • Provide project management expertise for various curriculum and assessment projects
    • Create and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
    • Develop mechanisms for tracking project progress and provide regular reports to stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent post-secondary education and experience
  • Preference for certification in project management and/or curriculum development/assessment
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the post-secondary sector
  • Familiarity with University program development and assessment processes
  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, Quest, LEARN, WCMS, SharePoint, Qualtrics, Adobe Pro
  • Demonstrated skills in curriculum analysis and/or development
  • Preference for experience with cyclical reviews
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage professionally with diverse groups
