Job Description

This role presents an opportunity to make a positive impact on our organization by prioritizing large-scale technology projects and bringing value as an orchestrator in Cross-Functional Portfolio Management at National Bank.

About the Role
  • Collaborate with portfolio management teams, business line representatives, IT and Operations teams, as well as finance teams, to prioritize initiatives and projects.
  • Ensure the quality of data related to portfolio management and capacity management for all business lines and cross-functional IT platforms.
  • Provide advanced analytics of bank-wide portfolio data and offer recommendations to guide decision-making, considering delivery capacity, trends, interdependencies, and impacts on the annual strategic plan.
  • Define and improve advanced indicators (KPIs) and inherent tools to deepen analyses.
  • Prepare presentation materials for executives, including team capacity tracking dashboards and recommendations based on detailed analysis and initiative prioritization.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and support business lines in identifying and prioritizing sectoral initiatives.
  • Document and evolve portfolio management processes and tools.
  • Participate in the Project Delivery Practice by sharing experience and good market practices to improve the quality and rigor in project execution.
  • Foster agile processes within the portfolio by collaborating with teams and adapting portfolio management practices to agile principles, ensuring a smooth transition to more flexible and iterative working methods.
  • Ensure effective communication with stakeholders, facilitating understanding of priorities, expectations, and impacts of decisions on cross-functional projects.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with cross-functional initiatives and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Provide guidance and support for portfolio management team skills development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Recommend and implement technology tools and charts to monitor and enhance portfolio management and analytical capabilities.
About the Team

The IT and Operations sector is composed of over 5500 experts who work collaboratively in an agile, proactive manner to seize opportunities, stay at the forefront of technology, and continuously improve processes. Within this sector, encompassing evolution cycles and cross-functional portfolios, you will report to the Senior Director of IT Project Portfolio. About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree completed in a relevant field, with approximately 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project portfolio management.
  • A strong ability to analyze project portfolio data in depth.
  • Ability to develop executive dashboards.
  • Effective communication and advisory skills at different levels of the organization.
  • Recognition as a rigorous person who takes initiative.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Jira, and PowerBI tools (an asset).
  • Knowledge of the banking environment and related technologies (an asset).
