Therapist for Childhood Communication Development

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be an integral part of our team dedicated to helping each child achieve their unique potential within their home, school, and community.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work closely with families, caregivers, and other care providers to assess, identify, and treat communication difficulties in children. This may involve working with children who have complex profiles of needs, requiring an interdisciplinary approach to care that incorporates community partnering agencies in an outreach capacity.
Key Responsibilities- Assessing and treating communication difficulties in children, including language, speech, fluency, voice/resonance, hearing, augmentative and alternative communication, and pragmatics.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to help children overcome communication barriers.
- Collaborating with families, caregivers, and other care providers to educate them on strategies and techniques to support children's communication development.
- Providing education and training to families, caregivers, and other care providers on effective communication methods and strategies.
- Registration and membership in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Post-secondary degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Sound understanding of speech language therapy among children and youth.
- Ability to identify goals and establish appropriate treatment plans to achieve those goals with children, youth, families, and other care providers both in-person and virtually through telepracticing.
- Effectively educating children/youth, families, and other care providers related to their specific needs, utilizing a variety of strategies and mediums (group, individual, lectures, online, etc.).
- Current CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certifications.
- Bilingualism considered an asset.
- A competitive salary range of $41.35-$48.70 per hour.
