About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Laborer to join our team at Patara Orchards. As a key member of our grounds maintenance crew, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and beauty of our orchard.

The successful candidate will have experience working outdoors in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and operating landscape maintenance equipment. A strong attention to detail, combined with excellent hand-eye coordination, is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including laying sod or seed, planting bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Cut grass using various mowing techniques and maintain lawns and gardens to a high standard.
  • Apply fertilizers to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, ensuring they receive adequate care.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and pruners.
Work Environment

You will work primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including wet/damp environments, noise, odors, and dust. This role requires a high level of physical stamina, with frequent walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent not required; however, relevant experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating dependability, flexibility, organization, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work safely.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year (dependent on experience), plus benefits, including a dental plan and healthcare plan.
