About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Zoological Technologist to join our team at Vancouver Aquarium Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting biological tests and laboratory analyses to ensure the health and well-being of aquatic animals
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to inform conservation efforts and improve animal care practices
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and compliance activities to protect wildlife and natural resources
  • Handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Design and implement displays and exhibitions that promote education and conservation
  • Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers to ensure high standards of animal care
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in animal care and field studies work, preferably in a marine ecosystem
  • Strong knowledge of animal behavior, physiology, and psychology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Willingness to relocate for this position
