About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned investment professional to join our Canada Growth Fund Investment Management team as a Senior Director, Cleantech Investments. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team created within PSP to manage the $15bn Canada Growth Fund.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution and management of investments in cleantech, deploying and managing CGF's capital, shaping strategy and leading investments into cleantech.
  • Help design and refine CGF's strategy for cleantech, considering market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory landscape.
  • Sourcing and originating deal flow by interacting with external partners.
  • Monitoring investments, executing value creation plans and assisting in the disposition of portfolio investments as required.
  • Building and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acting as direct HR manager for certain junior team members.
  • Actively contributing to team management and development of all team members.
Requirements
  • Well-rounded investor with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience within conventional energy, renewable energy, cleantech investing and/or investment banking/corporate finance/transaction services.
  • Experience investing in growth-stage companies.
  • Experience as a financial investor participating in companies with diverse shareholders and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing deal teams.
  • Execution skills across business development, investment analysis, structuring and negotiating complex transactions, and due diligence.
  • Intellectually curious and strong analytical skills.
  • Track record of influencing and engaging with boards and senior management teams.
  • Highly collegial and collaborative personality and comfortable with shared decision-making processes.
  • Experience in impact investing would be an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Relevant education.
  • Good communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn).
