Material Handling Driver

C Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary part-time Material Handling Driver to join our dynamic Logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the safe transportation of personnel, donors, equipment, blood products, and supplies.
About the RoleThe Material Handling Driver will be responsible for ensuring that blood and blood products are transported in accordance with safety measures and procedures. This will involve conducting pre-trip inspections, accurately completing required documentation, and utilizing their experience with driving and transportation to ensure the safety of employees, donors, and/or volunteers traveling with them.
Key Responsibilities- Transporting blood and blood products to various locations while adhering to strict safety protocols
- Conducting pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order and accurately completing required documentation
- Providing excellent customer service by assisting the collections team with greeting and helping donors book or rebook appointments as required
- Assisting with setting up systems and Wi-Fi connections for mobile events by utilizing their familiarity with technology and aptitude for learning new programs
- Valid unrestricted Class 4 BC driver's license and a clean commercial drivers abstract from within the last 30 days
- Minimum 24 months verifiable professional driving experience as a commercial vehicle driver, within the last 3 years
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs
- A willingness to learn procedures in a regulatory environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; a second language is considered an asset

This is a temporary part-time position with a variety of shifts available, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts range from 4-10 hours, and overtime may be required. Travel will be required to various locations within British Columbia. Training for this role will take place in Vancouver for 2-3 weeks. Physical capability to load, unload, push, and carry heavy clinic equipment and supplies is required.
