Job Title: Academic Operations Coordinator

George Brown College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Academic Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of the Chef School, you will provide senior-level coordination, administration, and logistical support to ensure the efficient scheduling, staffing, and operations of our programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and prepare non-full-time faculty and non-teaching contracts to meet scheduling and program delivery needs.
  • Coordinate and attach course registration numbers to faculty to ensure smooth delivery of programs.
  • Prepare and distribute SWFs, coordinate meetings between Associate Dean and faculty, and review for accuracy.
  • Investigate and advise students in complex cases regarding their academic standing and program status.
  • Research and respond to student and faculty inquiries for course or program information.
  • Support the coordinator in tracking, monitoring, and reporting on school expenditures and invoices.
  • Support the MAO in planning and executing internal and external advisory committee meetings and special events.
Requirements:
  • Three-year diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Hospitality Management, Management, Business, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience.
  • Minimum three years' administrative experience in a post-secondary education institution, preferably in the area of Hospitality and Tourism.
  • Excellent understanding and experience regarding academic functions, student systems, GBC policies and procedures, sound financial administrative experience, and expert knowledge of relational databases and office computer systems and applications.
