We are a firm that challenges conventional approaches to building construction. As a Structural Contract Administrator, you will join our team of professionals dedicated to redefining the industry.

This position is based in our Ottawa office and involves contract administration for projects in construction, with opportunities to contribute to our design team. The role requires both office and field responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Conducting field reviews and shop drawing reviews to ensure adherence to contract documents.
  2. Reviewing contractor quotes for change orders.
  3. Responding to RFI's from contractors to provide clarity and direction.
  4. Reviewing progress billings and issuing Site Instructions.
  5. Attending regular site meetings with contractors, other consultants, and clients.
  6. Assisting in budgeting, coordinating, and monitoring Contract Administration hours.
  7. Managing contract administration for several projects in parallel involving multiple internal and external teams.
  8. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, clients, and colleagues.
  9. Performing analysis and structural design where necessary.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related field specializing in structural engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building construction.
  • Familiarity with contract types including P3, design build, and lump sum delivery methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
  • A working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete, steel, wood, and masonry.
  • Proficiency in programs such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
