Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Critical Care Nurse Leader to join our team at William Osler Health System.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse leader to lead our critical care team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, with experience in leading teams and making strategic decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow and effective communication
  • Collaborate with inter-professional teams to optimize patient care and outcomes
  • Ensure accurate narcotic and controlled substance management, including discrepancy resolution and scheduled counts
  • Maintain a therapeutic relationship with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Stay up-to-date on emergency preparedness protocols and procedures, and respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Act as a lead during emergency codes, coordinating responses and ensuring patient safety
  • Facilitate timely bed/room cleaning and patient transport through collaboration with environmental services and access teams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent preferred
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in emergency nursing, with exemplary clinical skills
  • Minimum 2 years recent leadership experience, directly supervising others
  • Current Heart and Stroke Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required
  • Coronary Care 1 required, Coronary Care 2 preferred
  • Demonstrate Osler's Values: Respect, Excellence, Compassion, Innovation, and Collaboration
  • Possess clinical expertise and demonstrated exemplary clinical practice, with current Trauma Nursing Core course, Emergency Nursing Pediatric course, Emergency Nursing Certified Canada certificate, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications
Compensation and Benefits

Our competitive salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan and paid time off.
