Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Inspector to join our team at Norfolk County. As a key member of our Community Development Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code and related regulations.

About the Role
  • You will be responsible for reviewing building plans, inspecting construction sites, and enforcing building codes and zoning bylaws.
  • You will work closely with other departments, including Engineering and Planning, to ensure that all projects meet regulatory requirements.
  • You will provide expert advice and guidance to builders, developers, and homeowners on building code compliance and zoning regulations.
Requirements
  • You must have a strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code and related regulations.
  • You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You must have a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • You must have experience working in a similar role or possess relevant qualifications and certifications.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
