About the Role
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing highly distributed global systems for Scotiabank. Your expertise in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development will be essential in modernizing legacy systems and driving transformational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex business requirements and generate technical specifications to design or redesign software components and applications.
- Design and implement highly distributed global systems, leveraging industry best practices to ensure quality security and compliance requirements are met.
- Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts, socializing with larger audiences using reporting, real-time dashboards, and hosting education sessions.
- Responsible for the implementation of a trusted governance model where architecture assessments are automated based on enterprise standards and policies.
- Help drive the implementation of trusted policies and standards with internal teams such as Security, Infrastructure, Data, etc.
- Deployment of technology solutions that implement the trusted governance framework, policies, and workflows.
- Challenge solution architects' ways of thinking by implementing architectural design principles to improve security, resiliency, and technology footprint.
- Continuously research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
- Inform various stakeholders about issues with current technical solutions being implemented.
- Create designs and reference architectures for enterprise-level projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering industry experience
- Proven work experience as a Solution Architect or similar role
- Previous project management experience is an asset
- In-depth understanding of coding languages and logic structures
- Solid knowledge of various operating systems, databases, and technologies
- Efficient communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
