Senior Corporate Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading our accounting and financial reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the month-end close process, review and approve journal entries, and prepare monthly results packages for management.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including organized working papers and detailed account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Prepare financial statements and analyze financial results.
  • Determine appropriate accounting treatments and assist internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Prepare semi-annual forecasts, annual budgets, and annual long-term forecasts.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory reports and tax filings as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports as required.
  • Oversee a small accounting team (1-2 employees).
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Commerce with significant related work experience and an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA).
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and Excel.
  • Knowledge of regulatory accounting is an asset but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple deliverables and work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Solid business acumen, customer-focused, and innovative with the ability to identify and implement improved processes.
