Power Plant Operations Overview
Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an experienced Power Plant Operations Engineer to join the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital. The successful candidate will operate, repair, and maintain a high-pressure, high-temperature primary combined cycle, parallel co-generation thermal Power Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the Manager, Plant Operations to operate, repair, and maintain the Power Plant.
- Provide work direction to Assistant Shift Engineers by coordinating work activities, providing guidance, technical advice, training, and orientation.
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus five years' recent related experience in a first-class industrial plant.
- Second (2nd) Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line drawings.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
