Holistic Wound Ostomy Nurse Specialist

At SE Health, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Holistic Wound Ostomy Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Mississauga, Halton, and Central West area.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse to provide specialized care to individuals with ostomies, acute and chronic wounds, and urinary and fecal continence concerns.
As a key member of our Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Team, you will work closely with interprofessional teams to deliver holistic assessment and management services to meet the needs of clients.
Responsibilities- Clinical Support and Consultation: Perform detailed assessments of clients with wound, ostomy, and/or continence related concerns; formulate treatment recommendations; develop plans of care based on holistic assessments; evaluate plans of care; and provide education and mentorship experiences.
- Program Development/Leadership: Support quality healthcare through teaching, mentoring, program development, and quality monitoring; optimize client outcomes by reviewing Quality Improvement reports; identify nursing trends and issues related to specialty wound ostomy and continence management; and promote research-based practice.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Completed Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOCC) WOC-EP program or international certification approved by NSWOCC.
- Current and active membership in NSWOC Canada preferred.
- RN with current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Flexibility and commitment to advancing wound, ostomy, and continence care at SE Health.
- A willingness to participate in further education programs/courses to remain current.
