BENTO SUSHI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. As a Senior Sushi Artisan, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes while maintaining a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize kitchen operations.
- Develop and demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to junior staff members.
- Collaborate with senior chefs to create innovative recipes that meet quality standards.
- Supervise and mentor cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Prepare and cook high-quality sushi dishes on a regular basis or for special guests and functions.
- Plan menus and oversee the requisitioning of food and kitchen supplies.
- Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- 3-4 years of experience as a sushi chef in a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, and meeting deadlines. The work term is permanent, with a 30-hour workweek.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, BENTO SUSHI offers a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional growth and development.
