The AMS of UBC is seeking a dedicated Delivery Specialist to join our dynamic Catering & Conferences team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution and success of offsite events, delivering exceptional service and contributing to a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding guest service, adhering to AMS standards and procedures.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests at offsite locations with professionalism and care.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down event spaces according to client specifications, including moving furniture, arranging A/V equipment, and preparing buffets.
  • Verify catering contracts against prepared items and ensure the quality of all food and beverage offerings.
  • Prepare, load, unload, and store food, beverages, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organized manner.
  • Maintain communication with customers to ensure their satisfaction throughout the event.
  • Adhere to legal requirements and AMS standards for responsible alcohol service.
  • Prioritize food safety protocols at all times.
  • Provide feedback to the Catering & Conferences management team following each event.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a restaurant, banquet hall, or hotel setting.
  • Valid BC Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 22kg (50lbs).
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Serving-It-Right certification is an asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification or higher is an asset.
  • Fluency in English, with additional languages being beneficial.
