Position Overview
The AMS of UBC is seeking a dedicated Delivery Specialist to join our dynamic Catering & Conferences team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution and success of offsite events, delivering exceptional service and contributing to a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding guest service, adhering to AMS standards and procedures.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests at offsite locations with professionalism and care.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down event spaces according to client specifications, including moving furniture, arranging A/V equipment, and preparing buffets.
- Verify catering contracts against prepared items and ensure the quality of all food and beverage offerings.
- Prepare, load, unload, and store food, beverages, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organized manner.
- Maintain communication with customers to ensure their satisfaction throughout the event.
- Adhere to legal requirements and AMS standards for responsible alcohol service.
- Prioritize food safety protocols at all times.
- Provide feedback to the Catering & Conferences management team following each event.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a restaurant, banquet hall, or hotel setting.
- Valid BC Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 22kg (50lbs).
- Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Serving-It-Right certification is an asset.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification or higher is an asset.
- Fluency in English, with additional languages being beneficial.
