Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for capturing the essence of Indigenous cultures? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We're seeking a skilled Camera Editor to join our team at Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our team of experienced journalists and producers to develop engaging storylines and capture high-quality footage.
  • Utilize Sony XDCAM camera equipment, audio boards, and ENG lighting techniques to capture stunning visuals.
  • Work closely with our broadcast technicians to ensure seamless integration with our HD technology.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and issues, ensuring sensitivity and accuracy in our storytelling.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in broadcast journalism.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in a related discipline with proven current daily News broadcast experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Avid editing platforms and NewTek's Tricaster TC1 series.
  • Valid driver's license and a clear driver's abstract.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Strong computer/internet/social media familiarity and knowledge of broadcast technology/troubleshooting.
