Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager I to join the Acute Care Facility team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion of project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project activities, ensuring alignment with project plans and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, facilitating effective communication and consensus-building.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and individual competencies.
  • Work with consultants, vendors, and external agencies to negotiate contracts and secure goods and services.
  • Monitor budgets and execute project plans with stringent timelines, utilizing initiative, vision, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of patient care delivery systems, available resources, and applicable stakeholder groups, providing feedback and detailed analysis on project processes.
  • Utilize effective facilitation, persuasion, and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, and achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a relevant healthcare discipline.
  • Five to seven years of recent, related experience in project management, facilitating and managing consultation processes with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Current registration with relevant professional Colleges/Associations, if applicable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively within a complex interdisciplinary environment, including with the physician community.
  • Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, and database applications.

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Displays comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, with the ability to coach team members on these skills.
  • Effectively monitors budgets and executes project plans with stringent timelines.
  • Utilizes initiative, vision, independent thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of patient care delivery systems in primary, acute, and community settings.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of available resources for projects and applicable stakeholder groups, providing feedback and detailed analysis on project processes and making recommendations as required.
  • Utilizes effective facilitation, persuasion, and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict, and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Works effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
