Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing major components in our large-scale distributed backend service.

You will work closely with engineers from across the company to deliver the next generation of online features for both established and not-yet-released games. Your expertise in software development, client-server and peer-to-peer architectures, network security, and object-oriented design will be essential in driving the success of our online services.

In addition to your technical skills, you will provide maintenance and support for all services, ensuring the highest level of quality and reliability. Your excellent debugging and optimization skills, combined with your experience with relational databases, containers, orchestration, and service proxies, will be invaluable in this role.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field, or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in software development in C++
  • 5+ years of experience with client-server and peer-to-peer architectures, network security, basic network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP and UDP), object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of memory management, multiple processor use, runtime optimization, concurrency and synchronization
  • Experience designing APIs for SDKs and S2S
  • Solid computer science background including algorithm and data structure usage
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills working in a clustered server environment
  • Experience with relational database
  • Experience with containers, orchestration, and service proxies
  • Familiarity with Linux, AWS, Kubernetes

We offer a competitive base salary range of $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually, depending on location, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation, sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plan. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
