Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Management Specialist to join our team at the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting data to identify areas for improvement within our organization's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic blueprint to follow when deploying databases within our organization.
  • Develop and maintain computer databases, ensuring they are secure and accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Document reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations to other information systems professionals.
  • Liaise with staff on data requirements, collection, and availability.
  • Setup the IT infrastructure to allow applications to access databases.
  • Test data models and database management systems.
  • Design and develop databases to meet the needs of our organization.
  • Operate database management systems to analyze data and inform business decisions.
  • Develop and implement data administration policy, standards, and models.
  • Research and document data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, and data access rules.
  • Develop policies and procedures for network access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data.
  • Lead and co-ordinate teams of data administrators in the development and implementation of data policies, standards, and models.
  • Write scripts related to stored procedures and triggers.
  • Provide customer service and support to staff and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in database management and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of database software and systems, including Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Visual Studio, MS Access, MS SQL Server, and MySQL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and co-ordinate teams of data administrators.
