The incumbent will be responsible for the full accounting cycle related to their designated business units. This includes ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, preparing and presenting monthly and annual financial statements, and providing regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting records and prepare financial statements.
  • Provide regular financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform monthly and year-end closing tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize processes and reduce financial reporting cycle times.
  • Develop and prepare value-added financial analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations by preparing and submitting tax returns.
  • Work closely with partners to understand their businesses and financial drivers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and resolve accounting issues.
  • Handle audit requests by collaborating with external auditors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Perusing CPA designation, an asset.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with an accounting ERP system.
  • Experience preparing financial statements.
  • Experience in performing account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
