Procurement Specialist

At ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks North America, we're dedicated to driving a safer and greener tomorrow. As an Indirect Buyer, you'll play a crucial role in purchasing and managing spend for our MRO/Indirect category.
About the RoleThis position is responsible for overseeing the procurement process for MRO/Indirect spend categories. You'll work closely with global teams to align strategies and achieve procurement goals. Your expertise will be sought after to provide guidance and training to stakeholders, ensuring effective procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive reports to identify and categorize ABC vendors and parts/services related to indirect material and service purchasing.
- Analyze vendor performance to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Lead contract negotiations with A and B category vendors/parts/services across the US, Canada, and Mexico to secure the most favorable terms for the company.
- Collaborate with global teams to align strategies and achieve procurement goals.
- Share lessons learned and best practices across regions and support cross-region implementations to enhance procurement efficiency and consistency.
- Work with internal customers to ensure understanding and compliance with the Indirect Purchasing Procedure.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders to facilitate effective procurement processes.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with global contract management.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures and cost-saving strategies.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across regions and functions.
