The Manager, DevOps Platform Engineering will oversee a team of senior technical professionals responsible for implementing and supporting Moneris' DevOps Platform.

Location: This role is based in our Toronto office and follows a Hybrid work model.

Reporting Relationship: The successful candidate will report to the Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architecture and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of system engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the DevOps Platform, including necessary tooling, containerization, and CI/CD capabilities.
  • Collaborate with business, architecture, and development teams to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure technologies and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for escalated incidents and problems, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal business impact.
  • Develop and grow talent within the team, promoting a high-performing team culture and collaborative engineering environment.
  • Advocate and promote modern, Agile software development practices and core DevOps behaviors to drive change across development and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

  • Proven managerial experience in leading platform engineering and support (DevOps/SRE) teams.
  • 5+ years of practical hands-on technical experience combined with strong management skills.
  • Comprehensive DevOps skills, including proven hands-on experience with source, artifact, orchestration, configuration, and secret management in collaboration with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Nexus, HashiCorp Vault).
  • Proficiency in coding/scripting using Python/Go/Ruby/Shell/PowerShell languages.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (public and private) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, ArgoCD, Flux CD).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hands-on experience implementing Azure-based solutions.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
