Senior Assurance Manager, Private Client Services

RSM is seeking an Assurance Manager to join our Private Client Services team. As a key member of our national practice, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse client engagements and contribute to our clients' success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality client service, including coordinating review engagements and compilations of financial statements.
  • Assess risk and design procedures to engagement teams.
  • Understand and utilize RSM's review, compilation, and audit methodology.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.
  • Supervise engagement teams and facilitate field work by monitoring and reporting on productivity and adherence to work plan schedules.
  • Maintain contact with clients throughout the year to understand their business needs and assess the impact on current year engagements.
  • Develop others within the Firm through facilitating training, advising on career development, and participating in Firm initiatives.
  • Subscribe to industry publications and share relevant information with clients.
  • Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise.
  • Understand RSM's lines of businesses and discuss opportunities to make valuable introductions to others in the firm.
  • Develop a strategy to utilize relationships external to the firm with different types of Centers of Influence to effectuate business growth.
  • Manage profitability of projects.
  • Identify and communicate accounting and engagement matters to Senior Managers and Partners.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments as they affect GAAP and the Firm's standards and policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  • Active CPA designation in good standing.
  • 5+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring associates.
  • Understanding of compilation, review, audit, and tax services with knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A successful record of directing and deploying staff and senior associates on multiple, simultaneous engagements.
