Pacific Preferred Developments Ltd. is seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in the trade and be proficient in the use of hand tools. You will be required to work in various locations, including residential and commercial sites, and be able to maintain, repair, and renovate structures in a physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in the trade
- Proficient in the use of hand tools
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Own transportation
