Job Overview

As a skilled HVAC specialist with the Interior Health Authority, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our healthcare facilities in Kamloops, BC. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday day shifts with every second Friday off, offering a comprehensive benefits package and job stability in a collaborative team environment.

About the Role

In this position, you will perform skilled HVAC and refrigeration mechanic work at the journeyman level, including the fabrication, installation, alteration, repair, and service of refrigeration/cooling and air handling systems. Your responsibilities will include reviewing work requests, consulting with user departments on specifications, interpreting blueprints to determine necessary materials and equipment, calculating project costs, conducting operational and safety risk assessments, and coordinating work schedules.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Fabricate, install, alter, repair, and service refrigeration/cooling and air handling systems.

Your Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A strong background in HVAC and refrigeration mechanics, preferably with journeyman certification.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users, staff, and contractors.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights, as required.
