Pastry Artisan

At Eldho's Your Independent Grocer, we're seeking a skilled Retail Baker to join our team in creating exceptional baked goods for our customers. As a key member of our bakery department, you'll be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of items, from bread and rolls to desserts and pastries.

• Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods according to recipes or special customer orders
• Bake mixed dough and batters to perfection
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
• Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to impress
• Draw up production schedules to meet demand
• Ensure the quality of products meets our high standards
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas for cleanliness and organization
• Operate machinery with precision
• Organize and maintain inventory levels
• Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods

You'll work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and manual dexterity are essential. Our bakery department is physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods, handling heavy loads, and meeting tight deadlines.

• A competitive salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year (dependent on experience)

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar position
• Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent
• Ability to distinguish between colors, excellent hand-eye coordination, and strong judgment skills
• A client-focused approach and excellent communication skills
