Job Description:

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented individual with expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud databases. The successful candidate will have experience with cloud infrastructure, IoT concepts, web server operations, and communication protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Database Management: Design and implement scalable and secure cloud databases to store critical lab information and experimental data.
  • Cloud-Lab Integration: Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure for reliable communication between lab equipment and cloud systems.
  • Web Server and Protocol Expertise: Manage web server operations and ensure robust and efficient communication protocols are in place.
  • IT Security: Design and enforce security policies and best practices, focusing on cloud security, encryption, and data protection.
  • Automated Security Monitoring: Set up automated code scanning and vulnerability assessments to ensure secure code deployment and adherence to industry standards.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Draft and maintain comprehensive security documentation, keeping the team aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally in Microsoft Azure (AWS or GCP are acceptable).
  • Strong experience of SQL databases and related concepts, with hands-on experience in cloud-based relational database systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IoT concepts, including device management, data streaming, and cloud-to-device communications.
  • Deep understanding of web server operations, communication protocols, and data streaming concepts.
  • Proficiency in cloud security practices, encryption standards, and data protection strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and enforcing security policies and best practices for data management and cloud systems.
  • Experience with automated security tools, including code scanning and vulnerability checks.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with scientists and engineers.
