Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Security Officer III, you will play a critical role in maintaining a secure and protective environment at our state hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms to detect and respond to security incidents and emergencies.
  • Conduct routine patrols of buildings and grounds to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Handle emergency calls and respond to security violations, working closely with hospital management and law enforcement as needed.
  • Identify and report unfamiliar persons on campus and within units, using surveillance cameras and routine patrols.
  • Ensure appropriate lighting for the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of building or premise security and use of surveillance equipment.
  • Skills in oral and written communication, including writing incident and other investigative reports.
  • Ability to communicate with potentially aggressive patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Ability to patrol grounds, detect danger, and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to remain calm, reasonable, and react quickly in an emergency situation.
