Job Summary

Join the Royal Bank of Canada's Data Solution team as a Data Solutions Engineer, where you will play a key role in enabling the bank to become a data-driven organization. As a member of this team, you will design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data services to collect, process, and transform data from various sources into usable formats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build data services to integrate diverse data sources and formats, including structured and unstructured data, APIs, and streaming data.
  • Develop data services to serve data to RBC clients and internal groups, and integrate with operational systems and AI solutions to enable data/AI-driven processes.
  • Implement data security measures and best practices to ensure data privacy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation and improve data services.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent or; or diploma in related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in developing scalable applications using Java/Scala/Python, leveraging big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ELK, etc.) to build data products and services.
  • 3+ years' experience in building scalable, high-performance, high-availability applications.
  • 3+ years' experience of building data services in public cloud environments (Azure & AWS).
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure, and solve issues.
