Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Imaging Technologist to join our team at the University Health Network. As an integral member of our Joint Department of Medical Imaging, you will perform various imaging procedures with an opportunity to be trained in Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Interventional Radiology procedures using advanced digital equipment and digital quality assurance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management personnel, participate in professional development, teaching, and educational activities, and mentoring.
  • Perform cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned, including working call or overtime, and evening, weekend shifts.
  • Showcase judgment to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team.
  • Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast-paced, high patient volume setting, especially in accommodating unexpected situations.

Requirements

  • Certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO.
  • Live within 60 minutes of the hospital.
  • Completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification.
  • 2 to 3 years of General Radiography experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrate strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice.
  • Demonstrate good judgment to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team.
  • Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast-paced, high patient volume setting, especially in accommodating unexpected situations.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills and image quality.
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities.
  • Effective computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including through formal clinical documentation.
  • Awareness of hospital emergency codes and procedures.
  • Ability to work variable shifts and take on-call assignments.
  • Current membership with the CAMRT.
  • Previous CT experience, an asset.
  • Currently enrolled in or completion of the CAMRT Interventional Radiology Specialty certificate program, an asset.
