Accounting Clerk Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team at First Transit Canada. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Prepare and post financial reports, including payrolls, invoices, and expense accounts
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals
* Process and reconcile cash transactions, including receipts and disbursements
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
* Perform secretarial functions as needed for assigned staff members
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and reports

**Requirements**

* High school degree or equivalent with courses in bookkeeping
* At least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or secretarial assignments involving advanced recordkeeping
* Working knowledge of bookkeeping theories and practices and accepted office procedures
* Ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy
* Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions and technical or legal terminology
* Ability to prepare financial and other records in a systematic, neat, legible manner
