Aquatic Fitness Instructor Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Aquatic Fitness Instructor to join our team at the City of Abbotsford. As an Aquatic Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering fitness classes in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision and instruction to participants in the fitness centers.
  • Develop and deliver well-planned lessons for each class.
  • Adapt to the needs and abilities of class participants.
  • Teach patrons how to use equipment and review rules for safe participation.
  • Enforce general rules of conduct for the fitness facilities.
  • Treat injuries and complete necessary documentation.
  • Report any equipment issues to the supervisor team.
  • Provide high-quality customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for the community.
  • Communicate effectively with the Fitness Supervisor team.
Requirements:
  • Current BCRPA or Equivalent Aqua Fitness Certification.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR 'C' & AED certification.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of standard of care and working within scope of practice.
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment and its use for basic fitness needs.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with patrons and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the supervisor team.
About the Opportunity:
