Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist

Location: Colborne, ON

Schedules: Casual shifts, Saturdays

VCA Canada Northumberland Animal Hospital is currently welcoming a Veterinary Assistant, Client Care Coordinator to join our team. This dual role is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital.

  • In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated.
  • Assisting veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments.
  • Cultivating a warm, positive, compassionate atmosphere for our clients and patients.
  • Managing email correspondence for clients, referring veterinarians, and internal office messages.
  • Handling appointment scheduling, pet patient admission and discharge, and follow-up calls.
  • Managing invoicing/billing, including creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation, and processing payments.
  • General cleanliness maintenance in reception, pet holding areas, and common spaces.
  • Demonstrating willingness to learn about pet nutrition, veterinary services, and updated medical office procedures.
  • Remaining calm and adaptable in stressful situations.
  • Taking initiative and working independently.
  • A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset.
  • A love for all companion animals.
