Job Title: Manager, Employee Relations (Bilingual: French)

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Employee Relations to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing Employee Relations cases, providing expert advice and coaching to employees and managers, and ensuring compliance with Bank policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Employee Relations cases requiring specialized expertise and knowledge of Scotiabank's Code of Conduct, HR policies, employment law, and business lines/subsidiaries/countries.
  • Provide value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, managers, and HR Business Partners, ensuring global consistency and alignment to established governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.
  • Understand how Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, ensuring teams meet obligations while respecting operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to a team environment that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates others by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vision/values/business strategy.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or another related field.
  • Proficiency in French is required.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret collective agreements (international).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office products.
