Director, Government Relations and Business Development

Odgers Berndtson is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Vice President, Government Relations for Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC). As a critical member of the IMC team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a high-impact government relations and stakeholder strategy that positions the association as a thought leader and partner on issues related to healthcare and the industry at large.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy that advances IMC's objectives and promotes the interests of its member companies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, including ministers, MPs, and senior officials.
- Lead IMC's advocacy efforts on key policy issues, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and intellectual property.
- Collaborate with IMC's member companies to identify and advance their interests through government relations and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to IMC's leadership team on government relations and stakeholder engagement matters.
- 10+ years of experience leading a government relations function and team in a highly regulated organization or industry.
- Strong knowledge of the key players in government and the ability to navigate complex issues through a strategic lens.
- Exceptional team and stakeholder leadership ability, with a proven track record of impact and achievement.
- Bilingual (English/French) is required.
