Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of crisis intervention theory and experience working with adolescents and families.

About the Role

In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessments, treatment recommendations, and case management services to clients in acute crisis. You will work closely with hospital and community personnel to educate and consult on crisis intervention and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client and family needs, including social, emotional, and cultural factors.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapy models such as Brief Therapy Model and Crisis Intervention Model.
  • Liaise and consult with community resources to ensure seamless care coordination and access to services.
  • Provide training and education to staff, clients, and families on crisis intervention and mental health topics.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in an applicable social or health sciences program.
  • Two years of recent experience in adolescent crisis intervention, preferably in a mental health setting or hospital emergency department.
  • Eligibility for registration with relevant professional associations.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention theory and experience working with adolescents and families.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems theory and ability to incorporate it into mental health assessments and treatment interventions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in group and family therapy, as well as developmental stages of individuals and families.
  • Ability to establish rapport with clients and families, conduct research, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Compensation

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
