At Brightshores, we are seeking a highly skilled Medical Nurse Specialist to join our team. This is a casual opportunity with a competitive wage rate of $34.943 - $35.967 per hour.

The successful candidate will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for promoting health, assessing, providing care, and treating health conditions in patients to attain or maintain optimal function.

This role requires the ability to work in Emergency as needed, and to escort patients via ambulance services when required. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to continuous professional development and continuing education, and who has a basic computer knowledge. The successful candidate must also have recent satisfactory performance and attendance records, and adhere to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility
  • Ability and willingness to learn basic arrhythmia interpretation
  • Willingness and ability to work in Emergency as required
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BCLS)
  • Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Assessment and interviewing skills
  • Ability and willingness to escort patients via ambulance services when required
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement
  • Ability and willingness to work all shifts
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Participation in staff meetings and unit specific projects
  • Communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
  • Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours and 'LEAD' Competencies
