Competitive Payroll Administrator for Amaya Express

Amaya Express is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for managing our payroll process from start to finish.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration and excellent analytical skills. You will be responsible for:
- Calculating and preparing cheques for payroll
- Preparing statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments and insurance and pension plans
- Storing, updating and retrieving financial data
- Performing clerical duties, such as maintaining filing systems
- Performing human resources related duties such as personnel selection
- Preparing and balancing period-end reports and reconciling issued payrolls to bank statements
- Preparing monthly statements
- Informing employees about payroll matters and benefit plans
- Compiling statistics and reports
- Evaluating work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
- Maintaining payroll
- Maintaining records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, using manual or computerized systems
- Performing data entry
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in payroll administration
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Quick Books, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Windows
We offer a competitive salary of $$$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a matching RRSP program, and three weeks paid vacation per year.
