Corporate Actions Specialist: Entitlements and Processing Lead

About the Role
Fidelity Clearing Canada, a leading independent clearing broker and custodian, seeks an experienced Corporate Actions Specialist to join our team. As a subject matter expert in corporate actions, income, and Proxy events, you will be responsible for researching/solving complex issues, processing mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, reviewing tax consequences, and analyzing legal documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee department transactions, ensuring accurate preparation and processing of corporate action events and entitlements payments received from paying agents or depositories.
- Record and process Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRIP) and prepare proxy notifications for end clients.
- Process complex/high-risk transactions requiring multiple system touchpoints.
- Assist in ensuring announcement accuracy and researching discrepancies.
- Act as a point of contact for procedural and process questions.
- Provide relief for management by assisting with reviewing and overseeing controls to minimize risk.
- Participate in projects to improve efficiency and adapt to changing market standards within the firm.
- Deliver exceptional customer service interactions to internal and external customers.
The Ideal Candidate
- Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- More than 5 years of experience in securities/brokerage industry, ideally with 3+ years in corporate actions and entitlements processing, including tax and legal implications.
- Extensive knowledge of financial transaction processing, settlements, and corporate actions/income.
- Able to interact and communicate effectively with stakeholders and external parties.

Salary Information
We offer a competitive salary of approximately $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
