Job Overview

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide various nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. You will teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families, playing a leadership role in supporting integrated patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care reflecting the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
  • Take necessary steps to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Utilize nursing processes, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications

You must possess:

  • A completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • An active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • A current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • If not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of two years' experience in acute care or mental health.
  • The ability to respond to emergent situations.
  • The ability to climb stairs, carry equipment weighing 20kg on rare occasions, and push/pull heavy doors.
  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, lifting, pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or transferring patients.
  • The ability to see and hear.
  • Experience working with marginalized groups.
Working Conditions

This role requires you to work independently, using sound professional judgment, and communicate findings concisely and accurately.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $35.87-$43.82 per hour.
