Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC technician to join our team at Castlegar District Hospital. As an HVAC technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

About the Role

This is a casual position, which means you will work on an as-needed basis and have flexibility in your schedule. You will have the opportunity to cover for regular staff and choose when you work.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and service HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure safe and comfortable environments for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform skilled work in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, including building automated control systems.
  • Install, alter, and repair refrigeration/cooling systems across the hospital and regional facilities.
Requirements
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic or equivalent Trade, Class B Level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of B.C.
  • Two (2) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000 CAD, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits are also available, including medical, dental, and extended health benefits after 180 hours of work.
