Financial Accountant Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing month-end tasks, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting supplements to Corporate. You will also perform financial or accounting analysis as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end tasks, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting supplements to Corporate.
  • Perform financial or accounting analysis as needed.
  • Act as a key liaison between site employees and the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) shared services teams.
  • Participate in inventory cycle counts and fixed asset counts.
  • Conduct revenue audits to identify and correct potential misstatements to financials.
  • Ensure continued compliance with accounting policies and SOX internal controls.
  • Create, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures.
  • Provide support with internal and external audit requests, including tax-related matters.
  • Analyze, engage, drive insights, and make recommendations to improve process efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Finance/accounting designation is preferred or working towards it (CPA).
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience within an Assurance, Audit, and/or Controllership organization.
  • Previous experience with the AR and AP cycle.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
