Industrial Design Professor with Teaching and Research Opportunities

The University of Alberta, located in Edmonton, a vibrant city in the heart of Canada, is seeking a highly qualified Industrial Design Professor to join our Department of Art & Design. As a key member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to teach and conduct research in an innovative and collaborative environment.
**About the Position:**
We are offering a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in Industrial Design, specializing in product design, service design, and experiential design. You will be expected to contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs, teaching studios, lectures, and seminars, and conducting research that aligns with our department's strengths. Your expertise should complement our existing areas of focus, including industrial design, visual communication design, and the history of art, design, and visual culture.
**Responsibilities:**
- Teach and develop courses in industrial design, emphasizing innovative modes of teaching and interdisciplinary approaches.
- Conduct practice-based research in your area of specialization, integrating it into teaching and learning opportunities for students.
- Participate actively in departmental activities, collaborating with industry partners, professional communities, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor and supervise students in their thesis projects and capstone experiences.
**Requirements:**
- A terminal degree (Master's or PhD) in design or a related field.
- At least three years of professional experience, combined with post-secondary teaching experience.
- Meaningful work within your area(s) of design and research, demonstrated through a portfolio or publications.
