Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Community Development Coordinator to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong community engagement, leadership, and project management skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and updating community programs/projects to meet the needs of the community and promote its development. They will work collaboratively with concerned groups, local entities, and stakeholders to identify and analyze population needs, develop action plans, and implement them accordingly.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in human or social sciences, with three years of experience mainly in group monitoring and project coordination achieved in partnership or community organization. They will also possess excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational, and decision-making skills, as well as fluency in English and Cree languages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community programs/projects to address population needs
  • Collaborate with concerned groups, local entities, and stakeholders to identify and analyze population needs
  • Design, coordinate, and update community programs/projects to meet the needs of the community
  • Develop action plans and implement them accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with community partners to improve services and programs
  • Compile statistics based on requests, roles, and other information
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human or social sciences
  • Three years of experience mainly in group monitoring and project coordination
  • Excellent critical thinking, synthesis, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Fluency in English and Cree languages
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The CBHSSJB offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
