Counselor, Inclusive Recreation Specialist

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services is responsible for the day-to-day operation of facilities and service delivery for recreation venues and programs, parks & recreation policies, and programs for cultural services. Ensuring the operations, processes, and services are customer-centric and efficient.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the delivery of a Therapeutic Recreation / Life Skills Day Program.
- Work with Adults with Disabilities, providing support and guidance in a therapeutic setting.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement programs that promote inclusivity and accessibility.
- Provide exceptional client care, ensuring the needs of each individual are met.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and policies, including the rights and duties of workers.
- Completion of a college diploma in a related field or equivalent experience working with Special Needs clients.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience working with Adults with Disabilities.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certificates.
- Crisis Prevention/Intervention training certificate.
- AODA Customer Service/IASR Training.
- Ergonomic Lifts and Transfers training.
